As a further example, Andres relates the story of a Houston couple that was to be married, but the groom's father-in-law was in Germany, recovering from an accident. The groom knew that his bride was bummed that her father could not attend the ceremony in person. Our groom, being the romantic and resourceful type, contacted Webcastmywedding.net, and they provided the feed direct from the father-of-the-bride's hospital room. "It was pretty amazing," Andres explains, "because everyone in Germany dressed in wedding attire and tuxedos. We actually set up a connection and screen at the live ceremony so we could bridge the ocean and have a virtual wedding. The bride was 'escorted' down the aisle by her dad." Needless to say, that kind of thinking from the groom starts a marriage on the right foot. (ed. - That's gotta be good enough for a year's worth of backrubs.) How much does it cost? The company provides two options, depending on the number of streams that the bride and groom want to have. A one hundred stream wedding webcast costs $595, whereas a 25 stream webcast costs $395. It's a substantial savings that a couple can provide to grandparents who may not be able to travel long distances. A Philosophy About Marriage In our interview with Andres, we sensed immediately that his was not some business merely trying to tap into an overhyped wedding industry. No, Andres himself offered important insights into weddings and marriage. "I don't like hearing that grooms don't get involved much in wedding planning. Getting married is one thing that makes a man. It's a rite of passage. A man should not just delegate the whole thing to his bride." In fact, most of the company's customers are men. GroomGroove.com happens to think you should think about being one of them - Webcastmywedding.net is our pick. After speaking with Ariel - the answer is that he can run this on a mac, with some tweaks. You do need Window Media, and this is a pretty easy download. Cheers.

David - we'll put your question to Ariel Andres, the owner. Our understanding is that it would be no problem with a Mac - but we'll confirm.
