games for the mc to play
[Page 1 of 2]![]() It takes a true Master of Ceremonies to keep the festivities as lively and entertaining as possible throughout the entire wedding ceremony. Wedding games and activities are a great way to maintain the momentum of the celebration. While there are the traditional moments such as the first dance, cutting of the cake and garter toss to keep everyone busy, there are lots of moments in between that need to be filled with fun, such as between courses or between speeches. The MC need not actually speak the whole time. When selecting from possible wedding games (or creating your own), there are several important questions you need to ask yourself, first and foremost of which is: Will the bride and groom approve? Before the wedding, it is always a good idea to meet with the bride and groom to go over any game options you have come up with. You don't want to initiate a game only to find Bridezilla (or the groom) angry at you for fifteen years because you did something she hadn't approved of. Are the instructions easy? Wedding receptions are noisy affairs. In order to have a successful game, the instructions need to be easy to explain and follow. If you have to take more than thirty seconds to explain, it's probably too complicated. Is it tasteful? People have varying opinions as to what is tasteful and what is not for a wedding. For example, a party-hearty family might really enjoy a soft drinking game, while a more inhibited family would not even consider the idea. When you meet with the groom and bride to discuss the task, ask them what kind of tone they'd like to set for the reception. From this discussion, you should get a pretty good idea of what types of games they would enjoy, without necessarily having to tell them in advance what you have planned. article continues...[Page 1 of 2]

Disappointed
I like the game ideas, but really, who hasn't exhausted this short list of games at a previous wedding already? I wish they had compiled more selections. Weddings happen all the time, with many creative planners on board... Surely there are far more games than this short list for someone less imaginative (like me) to copy from.
