How the groom gets to the ceremony (on time)

The groom figures out on his own how he's getting to the wedding ceremony, be it with his best man, his dad or even by taxi. "It was a pretty hot June day when I got married," says recent groom, Brian Fitzpatrick, in an interview with GroomGroove.com. "My best man and I were going to walk the 10 blocks to the wedding site, but when we got outside, it was sweltering and so we axed the idea. We hopped in a cab." This is just one of many reasons to plan ahead for your wedding transport. Grooms should also note that their groomsmen are responsible for figuring out how to get to the wedding ceremony on their own, although if it makes you feel more secure having a hand in those plans, feel free to get involved.

What about all the other wedding guests?

As for everyone else, an honorable mention goes to providing special treatment for the mother of the bride and groom and grandparents. It's a nice touch if you can afford it. You don't have any obligation to provide transportation to any other guests, even those who are traveling from afar.

As with everything related to the wedding, wedding limousine services can be expensive. With a little creativity, you and your fiancée will be able to find the perfect way to get around on your wedding day without breaking the bank. That said, expect to spend between $300 and $600 (and up) for wedding limo services. For how long do you need wedding transportation?

The glorious bride and groom will need transportation to the ceremony and then from the ceremony, along with the wedding party,   to the photo site and the reception. There will also be a lot of waiting time, which can be quite expensive, but typically factored into the minimum time requirement. This minimum time requirement is about four hours, and you're likely to need all four hours. Here's where the time goes:

• Leave the garage, and drive to pick up the bride (clock starts)

• Pick up the bride, bring her to the wedding ceremony

• Wait for the wedding to end, and have a smoke or two

• Pick up the newlyweds and wedding party, and transport them to the photo site

• Wait for the photos to end, and have a smoke or two

• Drive the newlyweds and wedding party to the reception
