Easy recipes even a Groom can figure out

Dietis an integral part of losing weight. The good news is that you don't have to live on rice cakes and celery to trim down. A well-balanced diet with plenty of fruit, vegetables and protein will do the trick. Here are a bunch of recipes that are incredibly simple to prepare, even for the novice cook. The best part is that they are unbelievably easy to clean up (translation: no mess!) and exceptionally delicious.

Fat-burning Cardio

A lot of us guys think that real men pump iron and weaklings do cardio. The truth is that the key to weight loss is to build muscle and reduce stored fat. Muscles will help boost your metabolism and help you burn some fat stores, but cardio will accelerate the burning process. At a minimum, you should be raising your heart rate and breaking a sweat three times per week for 30 minutes per session. If you can find the time and muster the motivation, then aim for five 30-minute sessions of cardio each week. Now, GroomGroove.com understands that cardio can be boring sometimes. Get off that treadmill and stop watching TV. Instead, set your goal on running a marathon by springtime or at least a 10k race. Virtually every city in the world has short-medium distance running events. Set a goal and get there because both you and your wife will be happy you did. Better yet, grooms should help their brides get in shape.

The point is this: The more you do, the better and faster the results.

The good news is that it's actually quite easy to incorporate cardio into your fitness schedule without it being too tedious. The following activities are excellent ways to break a sweat and burn fat:

- Swimming laps

- Running (Check out www.runtheplanet.com to find great places to run regardless of where you live in the world or will travel to on business)

- Spinning at your local gym (can burn up to 500-800 calories per class)

- Skipping (burns about 10 calories per minute)

- Rollerblading

- Skate-Skiing (an intense winter activity)

If you find team sports more appealing, then you could always join a community or work basketball or soccer league. But make sure that this isn't the only cardio you get during the week - remember that you will need at least three 30-minute sessions. One basketball game only counts for one cardio session, even if it lasts an hour.

The trick is to find an activity that you enjoy and to make it a regular part of your weekly schedule. And make sure to switch things up to avoid cardio-boredom. Not only will this help keep your fitness regimen interesting, it will also challenge your body so that you continue to see results.
