Wedding speech tip #1

This week we’re giving some tips for grooms on making their wedding speech or a toast. We’re focusing this week on what it takes to make a great wedding speech (or a least a good one that you survive intact.) The most important thing you can do is to write your wedding speech down on a sheet of paper or a cue card.

Basically, you can either write your speech out in full, or write an outline. If you do create an outline, practice is the key, as you aren’t going to have the words in front of you - you’ll have to put it together as you go. That may seem a bit daunting. If you do write your speech down in full, make sure to write the page numbers on the pages or cue cards. There’s nothing worse than finding that your pages are out of order, but if they’re numbered, at least you’ll retain some level of confidence if they fall on the floor mid-speech.

Put that speech of yours in your tuxedo pocket the morning of the wedding.
