Wedding MC Games

As an emcee for a wedding, you might feel at times like a Kindergarten teacher with all of the announcements and group game preparation. But since this is your job, you’ve got to come up with stuff that meets the criteria for an adult wedding reception.  There are many things to consider, and the first of them is “do the bride and groom want games?”  If the answer is yes, now you’ve got to examine your audience. If there are children and elders present, you’ve got to be sure that the games you choose are appropriate for all. (Let the bride and groom decide if they’d like to do a garter toss - don’t put anyone on the spot.) Next, you’ve got to come up with game/activities that can be easily learned. If the games require a twenty minute crash course of instruction, then you’ll probably lose half of your participants to second helpings at the buffet. Lastly, once you’ve picked some games that seem like a fit for this crowd and relatively easy to pick up, then you’ve got to run them by the bride and groom. If the newly-married couple is embarrassed by your selection, you’ll never hear the end of it.
