The truth about “conflict-free” diamonds

In talking to Groom Groove’s own renowned diamond expert, Phyllis Bergman, we found out that only about 0.5% of diamonds sold in the world today are NOT conflict free. While it is still an issue, Bergman tells us that something called The Kimberly Process has been put into place by the diamond industry and governments around the world to ensure that from the time your diamond leaves the mine till it is on your finger it has been sold through the proper channels. A human rights-conscious groom can ask his diamond dealer for the history of your diamond and certification that to the best of his knowledge your diamond is conflict-free.
