The Rehearsal Dinner…. on my Father’s credit card.

So the tradition states that the groom’s family should be the ones to step up and cover the cost of the wedding rehearsal dinner, and my father hasn’t disappointed.

After about a week of being engaged my father and step mother sat us down and said, “we’d like to pay for the rehearsal dinner”. Obviously we were thrilled and blown away by their offer, now we just had to plan the damn thing. I use the term “we” loosely here, this was on my shoulders alone, and you know what, I didn’t mind it at all.

I’ve decided to go with a super funky restaurant in the town where we are getting hitched that can offer the wedding party and our folks a great dinner and hopefully a relaxing evening before we are thrown into the madness that will be our wedding day. Really I just want to make sure that first and foremost my father and step mothers money goes towards a killer night and secondly that we are all able to chill out and enjoy the rehearsal dinner and a last gasp of fresh air before the big day ensues.

I think a backyard bbq or a 5 course intimate meal works; it just depends on what you’re wanting for the night before the wedding. We tried to play it safe and go middle of the road, I am sure it will be an awesome event, and I can’t thank my folks enough for stepping up and helping out.
