It’s been nearly 9 months of engagement delight and wedding planning enjoyment, and we are now getting down the nitty gritty if you will.
Standing on the outside looking in on the big day it is time to sit down and look at the ol budget and see how well we’ve decided to stick to it, or completely trash it and spend like we’re Warren Buffet’s favourite children.
Let’s see a rough cut of the list : engagement ring (you’re shelling out for this on your own boys), engagement party, wedding rings, wedding dress, tuxedo, marriage licence, ceremony cost, reception cost, flowers, wedding favors, gifts for mc/wedding planner/uncle who let you drive his 1950 Rols, The DJ, The Photographer, The Videographer, oh and miscellaneous.
I don’t mean for this to come across in a negative tone at all, and honestly I am fine with all of the purchases we have made up to this point, but managing your money, understanding what you can and can’t afford, and praying to sweet God above that your parents step up and help out, will truly make the financial aspect of this wedding much easier to understand.
Whether you’re going to party like it is 1999 or keep it low key with a lobster bake and a few beers, get ready to part with some cash….
$10 says she won’t want a lobster bake. (I really need to win this bet, I have to raise some cash for the “special” place cards “WE’VE” selected)
