I’ve never really been a huge fan of the spot light, but never really one to run away from it either. So as the wedding is now only 4 weeks away I am beginning to pay closer attention to the attention that will be on my bride and me.
From the ceremony, to photos, to the reception we will basically be “on” for the entire day and night. I am assuming this will ring even more real when it comes time to get up and give a speech. First off I don’t really like the term “speech”, sure it is just talking in front of a crowd, but I’d rather look at it like I am getting up and saying a few words, the word “speech” makes it feel like I am accepting an award or running for office.
With the name calling aside I will have to get down to the nitty-gritty, and write this thing. I shouldn’t have a problem with getting words down and my feelings out it is just a matter of making sure they all make sense. Making sure I throw some humour in there, and making sure I express to my new Wife how truly grateful I am to call her my own.
It is a big day with an unheard of amount of details, but this is one aspect I want to give the time and attention it deserves. I don’t need to come off like a Pulitzer Prize winner, but I would like to avoid coming off like a WWE wrestler as well.
