Picking your wedding emcee

Choosing a wedding emcee is not an easy task. This guy is going to warm everybody up after a possibly really formal ceremony, make any and all announcements, and make sure the reception runs like a well-oiled machine. In addition to being the responsible, “on-top-of-it” type, your emcee’s gotta be at least somewhat funny. At least, that’s the traditional expectation on the role. The emcee should be funny in a confident, outgoing kind of way; not the guy who posts full page comebacks on message boards or won several rounds of “Yo Mama” before offending someone so badly it brought them to tears. It’s a delicate balance, and figuring out who among your two sets of friends meets the requirements can be a challenge.
