Frank Rizzohas and Bill Rodgers prove that it’s never too late to to don that tux and tie the knot with the one you love. In fact, numerous studies over the past century have found that married men and women tend to live longer, healthier lives. Maybe these guys caught on just in time!

At age 63, City Councilman Frank Rizzohas put his bachelor days behind him. He tied the knot yesterday with longtime sweetheart Deborah Altemus at a church ceremony on her 53d birthday at Maris Stella Church in Avalon, N.J. She’s an assistant director of procurement at Drexel University. He’s been a councilman at large for 10 years.
An affair was planned for about 30 people, including Rizzo’s 90-year-old mother, Carmella, at Stone Harbor Country Club. “For her to see me get married, she probably thinks there’s a miracle occurring,” Rizzo told The Inquirer’s Marcia Gelbart. Rizzo and Altemus were engaged for three years and have known each other since 1991 - the year his father died while running for mayor. Why now? The time was right. “I love her very much, and she loves me. Why delay it?”
And in Scotland, according to BBC News, Bill Rodgers became one of Scotland’s oldest grooms last year, marrying at age 96. We’d like to congratulate Rodgers on coordinating his tie with his bride’s bow. (Although we’re guessing it was probably her idea).
