If you are into music as much as I am you’ll appreciate the time and effort that I’ve put into the DJ selection for the night of our wedding reception. Not only was I careful with which company we selected but I’ve provided them with a strict list of “DO NOT PLAY” songs.
“To each their own”, I know, but when it comes to the music I want to ensure it is good. I am avoiding roughly 50 to 60 songs out of the millions that have been performed and recorded over the years.
Here is a rough cut of my list:
Chicken Dance, Macarena, The Conga , YMCA, Hokey Pokey, Locomotion, Cha Cha Slide, Limbo Rock, Mambo #5, Every Breath You Take – Police , I will Always Love You – Dolly Parton/ Whitney Houston , My Heart Will Go On – Celine Dion, Tears in Heaven – Eric Clapton, I Will Survive – Gloria Gaynor , Jesse’s Girl – Rick Springfield, White Wedding – Billy Idol ,Love Stinks, You Gave Love A Bad Name, Tainted Love (all self explanatory), Celebration – Kool and the Gang , Who Let the Dogs Out – Baha Men, Everybody (Have Fun Tonight) – Wang Chung ,Tequila – The Champs , Opps I did it again - Britney Spears
As King Edward III once said, “Over taste there shall be no discussion”… I personally just couldn’t deal with my aunt’s all dancing to “Who let the dogs out”.

I think this is totally a good idea… I’ve been to soooo many weddings that just got bad when ‘tequila’ came on, or worse a downer, (beautiful, but depressing) like ‘tears in heaven’.
Good call, bro’.
