We’re smack in the middle of the holiday season, and all around the country, grooms are cracking open a cold one and doing their damnedest to bond with future fathers-in-law. But how do you break through the gruff, the stubborn, the sometimes icy layer that fathers-in-law sometimes sport on these occasions.
First of all, don’t have unrealistic expectations. The groom and father-in-law needn’t be best friends. They also have plenty of years ahead to get better acquainted. Also, try to make time to do something fun as a couple with your future in-laws instead of fleetingor forces conversations across the dinner table.
