Well over the past 7 months of engagement bliss every conversation with my parents, friends, brothers & sister has involved the wedding. Really I don’t mind it, usually we are speaking about important topics or jobs that need to get taken care of. However there is one supporting topic that creeps into every 2nd or 3rd chat and that topic is recited the same way every single time.
“We knew you’d get married first”
Coming from a family of four children, I guess that they had a 25% chance of getting this wager correct, but it seems like everyone in the family is jumping up now and staking claim to the fact that they knew it, they knew it first.
With an older brother and an older sister in the mix I guess I was always assuming they’d take the plunge first, at least my older brother, he always seemed to be the guinea pig for most things growing up. That wasn’t the case; I stepped up first, but let’s be clear on one thing…
I am happy, I am pumped, I am excited. I don’t feel like I am going down in a blaze of glory, I feel like I am about to marry an incredible girl and hopefully start a family sometime soon.
So to my telepathic family, well done, well done to all of you for making the right call, you made the right one. I am confident that I’ve done the same.
I’m on first.
