A GroomGroove.com dude was travelling recently, and sat next to an Australian couple. The newlyweds were on a 6 week honeymoon from Australia, travelling from Perth to Los Angeles, Las Vegas (you’re supposed to get there before getting married!), up to Vancouver and Whistler, then to New York and Niagara Falls. Right now, they’re on their way to Malaysia for the end of their trip. Cool.
But what was really interesting about the couple, was when I asked the groom: “So how did you pop the question.” The response from the guy was…”Well, actually, she proposed to me.”
“And you…said…?” I asked…
“YES!”
[pause]
“Um, did you cry???”
No, the groom didn’t cry, but explained that in Australia, women are “allowed” to propose in a leap year, and only on February 29. So, four years ago, when the Olympics were being held God knows where etc. etc., this fine young lady popped the question to her man.
Those crazy Aussies.
