TIP 3: The Groom's Wedding Band
In men's wedding bands we are seeing a small trend toward what we refer to as alternative metals such as steel and tungsten. Why choose one metal over another? Usually the choice is determined by your culture, your desire and your wallet! Platinum is the most expensive of the metals because of its purity and rarity. Palladium, even though it is in the platinum family of metals, is less rare. When you are shopping for a ring, keep in mind again that all the metals are durable. Just decide what works best for you.

Phyllis is a force in the jewelry industry, as creator of her own retail line, Life & Love, and as President of the Mercury Ring Corporation, one of the oldest and most established bridal jewelry manufacturers in the United States, with more than 1,800 accounts nationwide. Phyllis took over the reins of the corporation in 1986. She now runs the show - from design, through production and sales.

Aside from being the President of her own successful company, Phyllis was president of the Women's Jewelry Association and the 24 Karat Club of New York and has sat as a director on a number of industry organizations.

As if that weren't enough, Phyllis has been director of the Central Park Conservancy, which keeps Central Park in pristine condition and able to accommodate many a New York marriage proposal. (And it's great marriage proposal spot, isn't it!)

Did we mention she knows her stuff?
