You stood in the make-your-own-salad lunch line with all of the other newbie heath nuts last January - until the bacon bits ran out. You got a gym membership at that state of the art gym near your house, but your fingerprints didn't stick to a dumbbell past June. But this year, you're going to be a groom standing next to a very determined bride, in the best shape of her life, and you are going to have to double-o-seven that tux. Get in that line, stay there, and don't let that gym membership go to waste. Build muscle, lose a couple of pounds and make getting fit a lifestyle change beyond your summer wedding. Make it happen.

Fix your finances

Your financial "house" may never have been in perfect order, but you've always managed to skate by from month to month. Between your collective student loans, her love of the season's most recent trends and tickets to the game, it's clear that someone is going to have to have to take decisive action to right this ship. Groom-to-be, it's you. Even if you aren't living paycheck to paycheck, this year you're saving for a wedding that will cost you tens of thousands. Hopefully you have your sights set on some long-term goals. Be proactive and get yourself and your bride some everyday-life budgeting software or take a trip to your local financial advisor.

"This year, we're going to be spontaneous...go on more dates...take dancing lessons" Sound familiar? These words probably came out of your future bride's mouth before you even knew she was your future bride. Why? Because watching every pre-game show on ESPN isn't something most brides want to do with their grooms. Dancing lessons, wine tastings and travel might all be requisites of planning your wedding this year. Not only will this get you involved in the planning process, it will also give you and your bride-to-be a chance to re-connect in a way that you might not if the "Big Day" wasn't on the 2008 calendar.
